Micro-Optical MEMS, micro-mirros and pico-projectors
Polewall is a Norwegian SME focusing on the development, manufacturing, and marketing of low cost point-to-point optical wireless links targeting the price sensitive residential and SME markets. Polewall's wireless modules are designed to provide a cost effective, small foot print solutions for short distance links for outdoor operation in rain, snow, or fog, and are able to transmit at full-rate, full duplex, equivalent to 100BASE Ethernet. The technology utilizes low power infrared transmission that does not require any license for operation worldwide. The typical applications are small cell backhaul, wireless surveillance systems, LAN bridging between buildings, and residential broadband access eliminating costly and time-consuming trenching for installation of optical fibers.
Main role in the project:
The main role of Polewall is to develop a proof-of-concept optical wireless transceiver module, which allows 1Gbps transmission over 250m with built-in vibration compensation based on the SINTEF 2D scanning mirror.
